About Conference

7th Regional Turkey, Caspian, Black Sea and Russia Conference and Showcase of Telecommunications and IT technologies
:: General information
The Caspian & Black Sea Telecoms Conference & Exhibition is the only event for the telecoms industry in Turkey, the Black Sea States and their neighbouring Caspian and Central Asian regions. The event has grown steadily over 5 years and has now become an essential meeting point for many professionals in the telecoms industry.

:: The Region
Turkey’s geo-political position makes it a natural communications bridge between Asia and Europe. Across the region, the telecommunications industry continues to experience a process of demonopolisation and privatisation. Telecommunication coverage is expanding and networks are being upgraded and digitalised. Satellite and mobile operations are also being developed whilst internet and ISP use is growing as Turkey’s telecom sector prepares for EU accession.

The Caspian & Black Sea Telecoms Conference & Showcase acts as an international gateway into a market that offers huge potential for both established investors and new market entrants.

:: Facts of Conference
The Caspian Telecoms Conference is a platform from which communication ministries and state telecoms companies can outline their concept for the modernisation and privatisation of the telecoms and IT industries to an audience of international telecoms companies and investors. The Conference is a forum in which topical issues relevant to the telecoms industry can be discussed in detail amongst both commercial and state telecom organisations, including telecom licensing, privatisation, legal and financial issues. It also promotes parallel seminars and ICT exchange programmes between countries and companies. Conference speakers, sponsors and supporting organisations are significant members of the telecoms industry who have made vital contributions to the development of the industry in the region.

Over 6 years, the Conference has seen a significant increase in the number of participating delegates, represented countries and companies. The 2006 Conference attracted over 450 delegates from more than 200 companies and an impressive 25 countries. 60 speakers took part, with official VIPs from 15 countries attending alongside 30 members of the trade press. The event also boasted 30 official sponsors.

Caspian telecoms conference and showcase has become firmly established as an important annual summit for the telecommunications industry, for communications ministers and the private sector in the Caspian, Central Asia, Caucasus, CIS and Black Sea regions.
